Ans. The royal infant grew taller and stronger day by day. He was brought up by an English nanny and tutored by Englishman. He was given the milk of an English cow. Like many other Indian crown princes he watched only English movies.

Ans. The chief astrologer predicted that the king may Kill ninety-nine tigers in the same manner, but he must be careful with the hundredth tiger. The hundredth tiger would decide his fate.

  No, the prophecy is not completely disproved. Ironically, the hundredth tiger which made of wood, takes its revenge upon the Maharaja.

Ans : Once a high ranking British officer visited forest of Pratibandapuram. He was very fond of tigers hunting and taking photograph with the  dead tigers. But the king refused to permit him. So, the Tiger King came in danger of losing his throne.

Ans : The Maharaja found his kingdom in danger when he refused the British officer to hunt tiger in his kingdom. Getting the trouble, he decided to gift wife of the officer. He bought 50 diamond rings and sent them to the British officer's wife. The lady became happy and thanked the king. Thus, the Maharaja managed to retain his kingdom.

Ans : Actually, the Tiger King shot the hundredth tiger taking careful aim. But he missed the mark. After he had left, the hunters took a close look of the tiger and found that it was not dead. So, one of the hunters killed it to hide the fact.

Ans : Though it was a wooden tiger it took the revenge. One of its silvers pierced the hand of the king. The infection flared in his arms. Slowly it became an incurable sore that caused his death.

Question : Draw a character sketch of the Tiger King in your own words. OR
  How did the hundredth tiger take its revenge upon the Tiger King ?


Ans : The Maharaja of Pratibandapuram was called the Tiger King. He was determined and brave man. He did not fear killing tigers with bare hands, when his bullet missed the mark.


  Once the chief astrologer predicted that death of Tiger King will come from the tiger. When he was 20 years old, the prediction of death came to his ears. There were many forests along with tigers in the Pratibandapuram state. The Maharaja started tiger hunting. The astrologer told the King to be very careful with the hundredth tiger. In this manner, he was able to kill 99 tigers. But at the time of hundredth tiger, the Maharaja shot the tiger very carefully. But the Maharaja did not know that the bullet missed the tiger.


  After a few days, the Maharaja gave his son a wooden tiger as a birthday present. On that day father and son played with that wooden tiger. Its surface was rough; tiny slivers of wood stood up like quills all over it. One of those slivers pierced the Maharaja's right hand. Next day, infection flared in his right hand and it developed into a suppurating sore which spread all over the arm and the Maharaja was dead. In this way, the hundredth tiger took its revenge upon the Tiger King.

Question : How did the Tiger King come in danger of losing his throne and how did he save his kingdom ?


Ans: The Tiger King had irritated the high ranking British officer by refusing him permission to hunt tigers in Pratibandapuram. He was very fond of hunting tigers. The Maharaja did not relent even when the request was toned down that the durai himself did not have to kill the tiger, the Maharaja could do the actual killing. The durai wanted to be photographed holding the gun and standing on the tiger's carcass. The Maharaja stood in danger of losing his throne.


  The Maharaja and his Dewan held a discussion over this issue and sent a telegram to the famous British company of jewelleries in Calcutta to send samples of expensive diamond rings of different designs. The Maharaja then sent the whole lot of fifty rings to the British official's wife, expecting her to choose one or two. But the lady kept all the rings and caused a loss of 3 lakh rupees. The king did not mind about it because he was able to save his kingdom.
